I heart Aziz Ansari

I love Aziz Ansari.  I think he's hilarious and I bought tickets for his show this past Friday at the Sony Center in Toronto.  He did new material which was pretty exciting because we have seen his old bit but you could tell it was new material as it was a little rough around the edges.  He stuttered over some of his material but it was still pretty darn hilarious.  I wish he didn't focus so much on relationships and did other observations as well.  & what happened to his cousin!?

This picture right here is form my camera....If you've ever seen his show, you know he does a bit where he lets the audience take as many pictures of him as they want before he tells them to put it away.

Happy Lovers Day

As usual, not doing anything special on valentines day.  Sometimes we'll go out for dinner if we're in the mood but most years, it's just another day.  Today is no other and it includes me going to the gym and doing some work.  Snooze fest.

I have this pair of goal dress pants that I'd like to fit into eventually.  Well I tried it on today and was able to squeeze into it barely.  I figured I would celebrate by wearing it to work.   Huge mistake because I felt like I couldn't breathe for the whole day and had to pee every 2 seconds.  Back to going to the back of my closet for me.

The weather outside

is frightful awesome!  I can't think of the last time I saw positive numbers in February in Toronto, let alone almost double digits!  I went to the gym and walked back to my car in my short shorts without layering up and I wasn't cold.  I could get used to this!

I wish I wasn't working right now and was outside enjoying the weather.

CBC Radios Mommy Bloggers

I normally have the radio tuned into cbc radio when I am getting ready in the mornings.  I randomly heard the last half of the Sunday Editions coverage on mommy bloggers and how some of them start out with the intent of making money off their blogs.  It was interesting because I think it applies not only to mommy bloggers but also makeup, fitness, you name it bloggers.  If peoples opinions are geniuine or if they are upfront about it, it doesn't bother me but when it gets to the point when peoples blogging intentions become biased and every single post is littered with sponsored this & that, it doesn't become a fun read.

Go here to have a listen.

I am loving the mild weather

Relatively speaking mild off course.  Compared to last year, it's definitely been warmer this year.  I was around Nathan Phillips Square last night and it was a little weird to see it filled with skaters since it doesn't seem cold enough.

Also what is a stand alone xbox 360 store doing on queen street?  I googled and it looks like it's an Xbox 360 Central store which allows you to try out games before buying them.  Not very informative Xbox 360 site.  It didn't seem like you could buy anything from there and was really for trying games out.  Seemed a little strange and misplaced if you ask me.

Tis the season

I don't really celebrate Christmas but I still dig the season. Why? Typically everybody is in a happy mood, making my life easier. I am getting out of town for a few days and coming back next week to enjoy a few days at home before 2011.

I won't be here for boxing day but am planning on checking in online to see if I can snag some boxing day deals. As much as I love clothes, this boxing day, I am actually looking to buy some electronics I've had on my mind so amazon.ca, bestbuy.ca, ect. I hope you have good deals online.

Spending cravings....

I remember this time last year, I was heavy into makeup & clothes, gearing up for the summer season. This year, it's not doing it for me. I still like makeup and clothes but the thought of going out & buying more doesn't really excite me which is a great thing. My credit card bills lately have been reasonable and I don't have any big surprises bill time.

Soo what have I been into lately. Food!! I was at Costco this weekend and they had a fancy smancy salad spinner for $20 and I actually debated forking over the cash for it! It would be a ridiculous splurge. I normally only make a salad for one so that's why I backed off the spinner. Tell me I am not crazy to want a $20 salad spinner....

Enjoy your green beers safely!

Happy St. Pattys day. I am just about to head out for round two of green beers! Be safe and enjoy!

Summer Lovin

It's not quite the summer but I am loving this tease mother nature is throwing at us. I wore some flats w/out socks to celebrate!

I am even debating setting up an appointment for a pedicure. @ the start of the season, I like getting a pedi to ring in the summer and make sure don't scare the world. I have pretty ugly feet so this is the least I can do.

Now that the olympics are over

I feel like there is this big TV void.

I've started watching The Real Housewives of Orange County and I love it! I am amazed by these peoples excessiveness but secretly I am jealous of it.

I almost forgot how winter driving really is...

An hour at most commute home took two hours. I got home safely so I can't complain as I saw lots of folks stuck with their blinkers on.

I am debating taking it easy tomorrow morning or heading to work a little late or even working from home to avoid spending another 2 hours commuting. I could be working or better yet watching the olympics at that time! I love the olympics. GO CANADA!

Happy Lovers Day

I am not a big proponent of doing something big for valentines day. After all you should be lovey and dovey all year long right? Yesterday I walked into Hallmark to buy something for a friend totally unrelated to valentines day and walked out. It was packed with all the last minute VDay shoppers! No thank you.

The bf and I are planning on cooking some dinner together and watching the Olympics which is something we would have done anyways.

Create short movie with yourself in it!

Do you want your friends to think you're awesome? Then go here (http://en.tackfilm.se/) and upload a picture of yourself and watch the movie! Then send the link to everybody you know and wait for people to reply and tell you how neat it is.

I would share my link with you folks but I don't want my face plastered on the interwebs so I'll spare you.

Happy Halloween!

It's here! Normally I love Halloween but this year I sadly have no plans except for staying indoors & possibly handing out candy. I might try & watch a scary movie but other than that, nada.

I think I will try to take advantage of discounted candy tomorrow though. Shoppers Drug Mart, look out!

Labour Day Weekend

What a great weekend. I did a mini road trip with the bf and it was great. Lots of fun and sun. Corny right? But I love all things cheesy and corny.

Now that I am back, I am trying to get things done for work as I have something I am working on for the majority of the week leaving hardly any time for anything else that comes up.

I hope everybody else had a great long weekend.

It's the long weekend!

I also took today off in addition to the Monday we're getting of for a nice relaxing 4 day weekend. Take that! Despite not having crazy plans like going to a cottage or Las Vegas, I feel productive. Today, I met with some people, am making a move on changes in my life (hopefully I'll write more about that later), went to the mall and didn't buy a thing. Actually I purchased some mall sushi for lunch but I've been doing a million things lately, I felt like I deserved a treat and better that than a coach bag. Seriously there was a Coach store and I was tempted to walk in and possibly walk out with a purse.

Sometimes I tell myself that if I accomplish a goal I can reward myself to motivate me to get my ass into gear for that goal. i.e. Loose 20lbs and you can buy yourself earrings. I know some psychiatrist out there would tell me this is bad & blah, blah, blah but it works and I have no problems doing it. In fact, when I was a kid my parents would give me money or treat me to food if I scored As in school. Maybe that's where I got it from.

Miscellany

  • I've been trying to run outside regularly now that summer is here and I really don't know how people can stick to the same route every single time. I like to spice things up and find that I can run longer if it's somewhere I haven't been before. But I've been keeping up with running outside at least once a week so go me!
  • My last post and what's been happening lately at work has made me realize a few things and I am trying to really force myself to come up with some idea of where I want to be career wise.
  • What's up with summerlicious? I think I would pay the same ordering off the menu because 1) I am vegetarian and 2) I probably don't need both an appetizer and dessert. I remember when summerlicious first started, it seemed like a great deal but it seems like the prices have gone up or maybe I just got cheaper....I think it's the first one
  • I am thinking of purchasing a GHD straightener later this year. I love my sedu one but I always want better.
  • Life's busy & not with things I want to be busy with
  • The weather sucks but I heard on the radio that we've been averaging about the same as last year. Really?

Why is it that Hillary duff can wear all these things together & still look hot? I am not a Hillary Duff fan but I saw this pic while I was doing my normal reading of celebrity trash & I love the way she looks in this outfit. Now I would never wear it. Short shorts when you're not on some tropical island isn't something I would rock. Or even knee high boots with cutoff shorts with a tank top with a scarf.

In other news, I went to The Bay today because they were having a one day sale on purses & it was pandemonium I tells ya! So many woman fighting over purses & shoes. The place was almost trashed like it was boxing day. There were some great deals (i.e. purses for $20) but by the time I got there, there was virtually nothing left except for some really unfortunate ugly choices so I left empty handed and my wallet is that much happier.

Random musings

A bunch of tidbits since I don't have anything coherent to say...
  • My account @ Canadian Tire is all set up. It was easy peasy & customer service was great at helping me login online. The lovely lady even told me about a promo where if you set up an automatic deposit, you get $25. Sweet! Since I'd be moving my money anyways so basically free money for doing what I normally would have done.
  • The weather is lovely! Finally warm enough to show those legs & other limbs that normally don't get any sun.
  • Gas prices are going up! Major bummer. I am sure $1+ is just around the corner
  • With the weather getting better, I am also trying to run outside and be more active. I want my summer bod back!
  • I just received my $10 cheque from Hotspex. Took a while (about 2 months) that I had almost forgotten about it. But it was a pleasant surprise and that's 10 more dollars I didn't have earlier today.
  • I also received some free chocolate thanks to Ginger! Two boxes of Nestlé Noir Mousse Délicate. Delicious! I will write a proper review soon. It also reminded me of other reviews that I have half-written that I should wrap up.

Long weekend to do

It's the long weekend & I have nothing exciting planned unlike the rest of Toronto. No cottage to go to, no road trips to drive on and no partying to be had. It's sad but I love having a long weekend mostly to myself every once in a while.

I have a long list of things I want to do.
  • Sort through my clothes & figure out which I want to try selling/give away for free. I think I'll try & take pics of the more promising items & put them up online somewhere & see if I can sell them. The rest will probably have to go to salvation army.
  • Yoga
  • Help my mom do some gardening.
  • Grocery shopping.
  • Organize my makeup. It's getting frustrating opening up the cupboards under my sink to see my eyeshadows & such lying around didy dadling. I also want to see if I can finish depotting my shadows & transfer them into palettes.
  • Pamper myself --> face masks, foot soaks, bubble bath, groom eyebrows, paint toe nails...you name it, I am doing it.
  • Get work presentation done --> I work well with a fire under my ass and I've put this presentation off for as long as I can. It's challenging and I love it. I've been constantly wanting to be challenged and this is definately it. But I also get frustrated because things aren't always right the first time. Some times, I need to throw out some of the work I've done and start from scratch. Working on the material for the presentation definitely isn't clock work so I really need to start on this today and not Monday night.
  • Make lunch to take into work next week
  • So the world doesn't think I completely anti social, I am planning on meeting & talking to other people by help my brother paint along with a few other people and also meet a few friends for drinks hopefully when the weather is nice so I can sit outside in some patio & bask in the sun.
